Iraqi folks are suffering for many reasons. Chief among these is the loss of hope that better days are coming. Given that sometime many years ago -children, average men and women who have not done anything to anyone were bombed for no apparent reason then I too can feel their anger. I recall a Christian friend of mine stating that he was "happy" that we had started bombing Iraq -I recall that my observations that most Iraqis had nothing to do with any bombs planted in New York -yes, I recall how that conversation fell on deaf ears (not to mention that I pointed out how unchristian such endorsements were).
Iraqis must hate America because of these reasons. Do they not have that right? I represent that these folks have every right to hate the Americans that cheered the bombing of their family, friends and countrymen.
I would like to extend an olive branch to those with hate in their hearts. While it is true that for many duplicitous reasons bad things may have happened -there is always blessings and hope. Even though a small minority of Americans may want to understand the thoughts, longings, hopes and dreams of Iraqis. It is important to remember that many beings believe in blessings and hopes for everyone.
Why would Americans invade your country?
Americans generally wish to do the right thing. It is built into our social make-up, we like to be the good guys. In World War I and II we tried to be the good guys. We tried to pull the world back from the brink of despair.
All of our movies point to the ways in which we want to be the good guys. Look at "Independence Day" or any of our other disaster type movies. These dramas always show the hero bringing everyone together to save the day. Being a hero is who we are and what we do, everyday.
How then can we be duped into invading a country to save others who did not require saving? The media -unfortunately most Americans do not distinguish opinion from fact. Fascinating news programs or rather fictional dramas disguised as factual news programs duped most Americans into believing that Iraq was a potential German powder keg led by a Hitler called Saddam.
Most Americans not having read any of the myths or beliefs of the Iraqi nation fell victim to the propaganda. Like cows in a herd the American public followed a ridiculous parade of charlatans down a spiraling escalator. Stupidity at its best!
No complex undertaking such as this enterprise can be unwound without having someone with whom one may make peace. A recent reading of mine noted the cause to win the hearts and minds of Iraqis -to help the Iraqi public to understand that we wanted to help and are trying to make things better.
The report I read states that Iraqi citizens were being aided by American backed United Arab Emirates soldiers. These units are interceding on the behalf of the American coalition. Anyone who cares to look will determine that religion is the quintessential aspect of most Iraqi lives.
If you ask me I think we should be handing out the Koran to these Iraqi citizens.
If we want to show that we do not impose our religion on others then passing out the Koran can give no greater signal. America should become the biggest producer of the Koran. With such a standing could anyone doubt that we seek justice, hope and, blessings?
May blessings and hope abound for you and yours.
